I have set up the exact same class on a Google Doc in your CSP class folder. This will allow you to enter "Journal" questions I pose to you and other Activities. Thus, I recommend you go straight to the Google Doc:

What is the point this article is trying to make? If there is plenty of data to access, what is the tech sector getting better at doing?  

Journal#3: “Big Data Sleuth"
Below are four sites that are based on Big Data. Select one, analyze it and answer the following questions.

1.What is this website potentially useful for?  What kinds of problems could the information provided be used to solve?  
2.Is the visualization provided useful?
Does it provide insight into the data? How does it help you look at a lot of information at once? How could it improve?
 

Where is the data coming from?
In order to answer this look for “About”, “Download”, or “API” on the site. You may also need to do a web search. for:

  1. Is the data from one source or many?
  2. Is it “static” or live?
  3. Is the source reputable? Why or why not?
Add a link to the raw data if you can find one
 

Do you consider this “Big” data?
Explain your reasoning.

 

Journal #4: State a Big Data source you know of that can be used in not only a Good way and how it can be used in a Bad way.
