• State: Every time we interact with our phones and the internet, Eg. purchases online, online games, seeking directions, etc. etc., our actions are continually being tracked. Cookies in our browsers keep a record of our movements on the Internet and then are retrieved by commercial or government interests.
• Question: 1. Is it possible to maintain  our privacy in a digitized world? 2. Do you care? Explain.

Activity 1 – Google On Trial - What is the Cost of Free?

• First: Read the Assignment: "Google On Trial - What is the Cost of Free?" and each student should pick a role for themselves: Judge, Prosecuting Attorney or Defense Attorney.
• Second: Read the portion of the Wall Street Journal Article that is relevant to your role in the case: "It's Modern Trade: Web Users Get As Much As They Give."
• Third: Enter your arguments onto the Gradesheet based on the facts of the case presented in the W.S.J. Article.
• Finally...Time to argue your case in front of the court.
