Tech Tip of the Week Stopping Your Lenovo Monitor from Dimming |
If there is one thing that bothers the teachers I have been working with, it is when their Lenovo displays dim while they are working on them. The display will be bright, then a few seconds later it will become dim and eventually bright again. It has nothing to do with "Sleep Mode" since the problem occurs while the teacher is using their computer. It is called an Ambient Light Sensor. This is how you disable it: Open the “Search” feature (f10 key or pull right bar). Type “Power”. Select the result “Power Options.” Select “Energy Saver”, then select the “Change Plan Setting” link. Now click on “Change advanced power settings”. Scroll down to “Display” and select the “+” sign in order to expand the menu. Now look for “Enable adaptive brightness.” Click the “+” sign in order to expand the menu. Make sure Battery and Plug settings are set to “OFF!” Now click “ok” and your screen should not dim any longer. |
